Tanzih تنزيه
declaration of incomparability (default in Akbarian dialectic; the apophatic moment that names the Real as utterly unlike any created reality. Paired contrastively with tashbih in the foundational Akbarian doctrine that BOTH are required and neither alone exhausts the Real)
Tanzih (تنزيه) — Doctrinally load-bearing for the Fass Nuh, where Ibn Arabi reads Noah’s preaching as one-sided tanzih (calling his people only to incomparability, away from any tashbih). The Akbarian critique is not that tanzih is wrong but that pure tanzih without tashbih falsifies the Real as much as pure tashbih without tanzih would. Render the speech-act dimension consistently (“declaration of incomparability”) rather than collapsing to the substantive “transcendence.” “Apophatic theology” is forbidden because it cross-tradition-imports a Christian-philosophical category; surface the parallel via cross-tradition apparatus instead. The al-Haqq is described as munazzah (declared incomparable) in technical Akbarian usage; preserve the verbal/adjectival forms.
