Build on the corpus.

Hekhal’s library, its cross-tradition maps, its topology of theological disagreement, and its lexicon are all exposed as openly-licensed, machine-readable datasets. Everything is CC-BY-SA, CORS-enabled, and free to ingest, cite, and build on. Being used is the point.

Using the data

  • Licensed CC-BY-SA 4.0. Reproduce, adapt, and redistribute with attribution to Hekhal (hekhal.org). No paywall, no key.
  • Cross-origin enabled. Every endpoint sends Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *, so you can fetch it straight from a browser app.
  • schema.org typed. The catalogs are JSON-LD (DataCatalog / Dataset); Hekhal-specific terms are documented at /ns.
  • Citable. Where a dataset carries a DOI, cite that. Editions and maps carry their own provenance and status; verify a passage’s status before relying on it.
  • Honest about coverage. Counts are computed from the live corpus at build time and mark their own gaps; nothing implies completeness.
