Reading the Abrahamic mystics side by side
Four live sessions, about seventy-five minutes each, in a small group capped at 25. We read the primary sources of the Jewish, Christian and Islamic mystical traditions in the original beside English, and we keep each tradition in its own words.
The ascent to the Chariot
The Heikhalot palaces and the Merkavah: what the ascent texts actually describe, read in Hebrew and Aramaic beside English. Read it now, free
Dionysius and the way of unsaying
The Mystical Theology and the divine darkness: how a Christian tradition learned to speak of God by denying what it says. Read it now, free
The Perfect Human
Ibn Arabi and al-Jili on al-insan al-kamil, read from the complete 63-chapter edition of al-Jili. Read it now, free
A question held open
One fault-line all three traditions argue about in their own terms, each side stated as its own holders state it, with nothing merged that the sources keep apart. Read it now, free
How it works
Every reading is already free in the Hekhal library, and it will stay free. What the course adds is the live room: a guided close reading, session sheets that set the passages side by side, recordings for the group, and time to argue with the texts and with each other.
Where a passage is read from a machine-assisted Hekhal draft, the session names the standard print translation beside it. Cross-tradition links are marked as either documented transmission or structural parallel, with the citation, so nothing is claimed that the sources do not support.
