Derash: a prooftext chain establishing Tzedek as a name of the Shekhinah. ‘The skies pour down tzedek’ (Isaiah 45:8) is joined to ‘tzedek lodges in her’ (Isaiah 1:21) — the feminine ‘in her’ (bah) read as the indwelling presence. This continues Bahir §75, where the two tzedeks are unfolded. Sod: Tzedek is the name of the lowest grade, later Malkhut, in her aspect as judgment and as the seat of kingship.

The chain then ties Tzedek to David’s kingship: ‘the LORD shall reign… O Zion’ (Psalm 146:10) and ‘Zion is the city of David.’ Zion and the Davidic throne are read as the earthly correlate of the Shekhinah-Tzedek grade (Malkhut), the point where the kingdom above meets the kingdom below.

Fidelity note: the source cites ‘Zion is the city of David’ as 1 Chronicles 11:1; the verse is in fact at 1 Chronicles 11:5 (‘David captured the stronghold of Zion, which is the city of David’; cf. 2 Samuel 5:7).
