Hekhal is a small project that benefits from outside expertise. Five channels for working with us are below. Each opens an email to the editor with a structured starter template; replace the template with your specifics.
Submit an open question
A scholarly gap in our coverage that you believe we should address. Most useful when you name a primary source and offer a brief case for inclusion.
Open email →Suggest a translation
A primary text that should be hosted on Hekhal that is not yet. Public-domain renderings can be linked; commissioned new translations can be proposed.
Open email →Flag a correction
An error in a translation, citation, attribution, or editorial frame. Provenance corrections are especially welcome.
Open email →Acknowledgment adjustment
If we cite your work and you wish us to attribute differently, or to remove the citation, please write to us with the specific page URL and the requested change.
Open email →Become a contributor
Translation review, codex drafting, lexicon entries, source verification. Contributors are named in the colophon of any page their work shapes and on the acknowledgments page.
Open email →Compensation and acknowledgment
We do not yet pay contributors. We acknowledge contribution in the colophon of any page your input shapes and on the acknowledgments page. The acknowledgment is durable: it persists across page revisions, across schema changes, and across the project's growth.
For commissioned translation work or formal collaborative projects, please write to the editor with a proposal; we will respond within a week.
What we cannot accept
The editorial law tiers of Hekhal apply to all incoming material. Canonical material is treated with provenance and primary citation, reception material is distinguished structurally, and containment material is treated separately on the containment subdomain. Submissions that conflate these tiers will be redirected.
Speculative reconstructions, personal hermeneutic frames presented as canonical, and AI-generated commentary without computational evidence will not be accepted into canonical or reception material.
Privacy
Email correspondence with the editor is retained for project recordkeeping. We do not share contributor emails with third parties. Public acknowledgment on Hekhal is always opt-in; tell us if you prefer your contribution acknowledged anonymously or by pseudonym.
